Meet the Fresno Team Behind Sutton ADU Fresno
Most homeowners only ever meet one or two people from a building company. We do it differently. When you build an ADU with us, you know exactly who is walking onto your property, what they do, and what they’re accountable for. The Fresno crew is small by design. Every person below has been background-checked, identity-verified, and trained to the Threshold Standard. Their name and photo arrive in your inbox before they do. That’s how we’ve operated since 2006, and we don’t see a reason to stop.
Our People

Miles Hartwell, Owner
Miles has spent nearly two decades in residential construction, and he still walks every Fresno job site himself. He started Sutton ADU Fresno because he saw too many homeowners handed a verbal estimate, then a final invoice that looked nothing like it. His answer was the written price before work starts, on every project, no exceptions. When he’s not reviewing plans or walking lots, he’s usually arguing with a stubborn setback requirement in Tower District or figuring out how to get a prefab module through a Fig Garden driveway without pruning the neighbor’s oak. He signs every 365-Day Done Right Promise personally.
Rosa M., Senior Installer
Rosa has been with Sutton ADU Fresno for eleven years and has led more than sixty ADU installations across the Fresno metro. She’s our go-to for James Hardie cladding systems and is certified on Abodu, Cover, and Boxabl panel assemblies. Rosa is the person who notices when a foundation pour is two degrees off or when a prefab module needs shimming before the crane even settles. She grew up in Selma and still keeps a tape measure in her glove box, which she says has saved more Saturday mornings than she can count. Homeowners regularly ask for her by name on their second project.
Daniel T., Lead Carpenter
Daniel handles the framing, finish work, and the hundred small decisions that turn a module into a house. He’s been with the company for eight years and specializes in room additions and garage conversions, though he’ll tell you a detached ADU with a clean roofline is his favorite kind of job. Daniel is certified on Mighty Buildings and Plant Prefab panel systems, and he’s the one who walks homeowners through the build sequence in plain English, no jargon. Outside of work, he coaches youth soccer in Clovis and restores mid-century furniture, which explains why his miters are unreasonably clean.
Priya S., Service Coordinator
Priya is the voice on the phone when you call (559) 785-0627, and she’s been answering it for six years. A live person picks up every time, partly because Priya genuinely wants to know what’s going on with your project, and partly because no voicemail tree has ever solved a supply-chain question at noon on a Thursday. She schedules every visit, sends the name-and-photo notice before each crew member arrives, and keeps the permit paperwork moving at Fresno’s Building and Safety office. Priya grew up in northwest Fresno and knows the difference between a Bullard-area lot and a Sunnyside lot without looking at a map.
Marcus J., Apprentice
Marcus is in his third year with the crew and spends most of his time learning from Rosa and Daniel on active job sites. He’s working toward his own certifications on Dvele and Tuff Shed conversion systems, and he handles a lot of the site prep, material staging, and daily cleanup that keeps a project moving. Marcus grew up in Pinedale and went through a construction trades program at Fresno City College before joining the team. He’s usually the one hauling the ladder and the one who remembers where the extra box of fasteners went. Homeowners like him because he shows up on time and actually cleans up after himself.
One Standard, Every Job
The team you meet in Fresno operates under the same system as every Sutton location in California. It’s called the Threshold Standard, and it’s the reason we don’t have to ask our crew to do the right thing; we just hire people who already would. Every technician is background-checked and identity-verified, then uniformed and photo-badged before they ever step foot on your lot. You get a written price before any work begins. If something isn’t right within a full calendar year of completion, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we come back and make it right, at no cost to you. And if an element of the build fails, a second visit is free, no haggling, no fee. That standard applies whether it’s Rosa leading a prefab install in Clovis, Daniel framing a room addition in Woodward Park, or Marcus hauling materials on a Tower District lot. It’s the same paper, the same promise, and the same people, every time.
